There is an incredible book entitled Coyote’s Guide to Connecting with Nature by Jon Young, Ellen Haas, and Evan McGown. It is rooted in indigenous knowledge and very experiential in its approach. Through games and core routines, children are awakened to their natural wonder and comfort in an outdoor setting. The book includes invaluable guidance for the adult in how to structure the child’s experience, allowing the child the freedom to explore.
